As I started my journey of walking with the Lord and really getting to know who He was, I realized that it is one thing to believe in God and it is another to know who He is.

 

This also applies to His word. If you are like me, I used to read my bible, just to say that I read it. I would read the words or skim over the words but I did not take the time to slow down and really comprehend what I was reading.

Around the same time that this revelation hit me, I realized how much I needed the word deep down in my soul. I wanted God more in my life as my life was just up in shambles. It was then that I had to make a change and make God my priority. I needed to have time set aside for just Him and me. I needed to know who He really was.

​

I challenged myself to read a Proverb and a Psalm a day. The awesome thing is that Proverbs only has 31 chapters so that was easy. Whatever the date was, that was the day and chapter to read.

​

I, challenge YOU today to join me in putting God first. And, yes make this time at the beginning of your day. 

1. Read a Proverb AND Psalm a day.

2. Yes, every day.

3. Yes, repeat it monthly.

 

It does not matter how many times you have read the same chapter. There is always something new and more wisdom to gain as the Holy Spirit reveals to us more and more.
